Bumper Install Review By ALASHA On JKO

Shaffer’s Offroad Front Bumper Install

So I have been checking out the Shaffer bumper for some time. I really like it because:

  • Price – I really think that it is the best looking bumper at this price point.
  • Weight – I didn’t get a chance to weigh it but it didn’t feel that heavy and Shaffer cuts out material in various places i.e. the holes cut on the top piece right in front of the winch.
  • Air flow – I like how the two large cut outs on either side of the winch allow for maximum air flow.
  • Stubby – I didn’t want a full width bumper
  • Made in the USA

After seeing this bumper go on sale,I figured it was too good of a deal to pass up so I jumped on it. Apparently quite a few of you had the same idea because when I talked to Mike to place my order, he had 20 orders ahead of me. I told him I would really like to have one for EJS and he assured me that he would make that happen despite having an Offroad race in between.

I will admit I was a little worried but was very happy to see this sucker sitting by my door when I came home Friday.

Given my time schedule to get to EJS, I decided to just rattle can the bumper satin black. Also, this way it would be a lot easier to touch up any rock rash that this bumper may experience.

I rarely use my fog lights and had a pair of light pods that I won from Trail Worthy Fab so I ordered the bumper with the square cut outs. I think the final look turned out to be really clean this way.

I had a Bulldog Alpha lying around which we threw in there. I ordered synthetic line but I don’t think I will get it in time for EJS so I will update this with more pics when I switch to it and a hawse fairlead.
